Low energy is a symptom, not a pattern. The question that separates one kind from another is whether it tracks with food or ignores food, because those two answers point at different systems and different next steps.
A signaling problem is a problem with the message, meaning the cell is not getting a clean instruction to make energy. A structural problem is a problem with the capacity, meaning the machinery that makes energy is the limit. Part two
If you are on a GLP-1, run this first
A GLP-1, the class of appetite compounds that includes semaglutide and retatrutide, can flatten daytime energy on its own. If you are running one, it has to be ruled out first, because it can produce the same reading the rest of this flowchart is trying to interpret.
Did energy decline after a dose increase or a change in injection timing? If it did, the pattern points at that change as the variable to isolate, not at a new compound. Based on the data, a recent escalation is the most common explanation for energy that dropped on a GLP-1.
A GLP-1 taken in the evening peaks overnight, and that peak can flatten the following day. If the energy read lines up with an evening injection, the timing is the variable worth isolating before reading anything else.
If neither is obviously it, holding the protocol stable for two weeks with no changes and watching whether the pattern shifts on its own is what separates a GLP-1 effect from an underlying one.
